It's crazier when you see that we have a deficit trade balance with them that would justify ~41% tariffs based on Trump's method. And we have 50x the amount of trade with them than we do with Iran (who we also Sanction) and they got the flat 10%

In order for Trump to apply blanket tariffs, he had to declare a 'National Emergency' due to a "large and persistent trade deficit." 

This is on it's face absurd, but it's made all the more absurd by the fact that Russia, who we currently have one of the greatest per capita deficits with, escaped the tariffs!

I cannot fathom the designers of the Constitution ever thinking this is a legitimate wielding of Executive power. Congress has ceded far too much control to the Executive, and needs to reign them in immediately. Think of how easily Trump can corruptly make carve outs or add on to pressure people to bend to his will.
