It depends 🙂. I think that in the vast majority of cases, when you’re not 90%+ confident in your grand vision, it’s better to start small, learn, iterate and adjust the vision.

I also believe there are examples of cases where a grand idea was so obviously worth betting on, that starting from it and narrowing it down to the first implementation worked great 🙂. Haven’t had a chance myself to work on such an idea yet, though.

Yes, definitely. Presenting these two perspectives at the start of a project can be a valuable approach… It helps to understand how the founding team views and approaches their aspirations. It can also guide the project's direction and ensure everyone's on the same page from the beginning.
