it's people, maybe skewed a certain way by self-selection and incentives, plus the bots + tools that people have deployed to pursue those incentives.

I would expect with more people coming in via a wallet (Soon!), it would bring more extractive energy, but definitely some natural human desire to collaborate and connect.

And I think nobody uses it like any other social media, that's kind of a feature, not a bug.

Sometimes I wonder, what is the main focus of people when using FC? 

Are people on FC just focused on making money or do they use it like any other social media?

I want to be clear. I point out this irony because

a) Warpcast chose a marketing slogan 
b) it's on Warpcast to make that slogan a reality

c) if my acerbic attitude is too much, mute / block / unfollow / dump my token that's what it's there for. But hoobooy good luck when you hear about @wildideaman 's opinion

d) there's 3 big problems facing humanity on social media: signal vs noise, walled gardens vs echo chambers, truth vs untruth. Right now, Farcaster cannot tackle any of them (yet), because it's at a grow or die place. I want to grow, so that we can take interesting shots on goal at the big problems

At this point you may even make more money on twitter 😂

I wonder if there's a distinction between a groupon club and a casino.

Groupons kind of found a bad equilibrium, with only crappy products needing to offer discounts to the most transactional disloyal customers.

They weren't able to differentiate the attractive customers who just need a little boost to try a real value-add product, from the scavengers and tourists (non-repeat users, by definition).

I think crypto + farcaster can solve this, with reputation and a good balance of anti-sybil and new user welcome. But it hasn't made enough strides in exploring this yet, imo.

Things change fast and that contributes to some churn when money freebies dry up.

I think FC is best for creators and the crypto curious. It can't be all about the money or it might as well be a casino. 

Nothing is guaranteed to make money, but for creators and the curious, there's a lot to do and be part of.
