A lot of the discourse around channels leads me to believe that many people don’t understand how the protocol works

it's ok though, no? would rather dream wildly, than be presented with false dichotomies (red pill or blue pill) or fake trilemmas made up on the spot ("you can have two of three, not all three")

To clarify what I mean here: I'm seeing a lot of folks conflating the protocol (Farcaster) — which is *unfiltered* and *uncensorable* — with clients (Warpcast, Supercast, Nook, et al), which can choose to filter the content shown in their apps

Farcaster channels have no "main feed", that's all at the client level

Roughly:
- client retrieves public key from channel modbot's wallet
- client encrypts and casts ciphertext
- client sends other ciphertext to channel modbot
- receives decrypted text if the caster was allowed to cast in channel, sends to client to show user
