I think things will get better for him. Every time the season ends we hear that Casemiro should leave United, that he has run his course, that he should go to Saudi Arabia or go back to Brazil, but he can still play. He has a lot to offer United.

Al Ahly, for example, are in the market for a new holding midfielder but to sign Casemiro they would have to sell or de-register one of their nine non-Saudi players. Former Premier League stars currently at Al Ahly include Ivan Toney, Roberto Firmino and Riyad Mahrez. Casemiro could leave Old Trafford in January but former United midfielder Kleberson suggested in November that his compatriot’s form was improving and there could be a place for him in Amorim’s plans. Casemiro is a player who is not afraid of pressure, he can handle it, said Kleberson. "People and the media can criticise him, but he is always himself and always tries to play the way he can play. He scored two goals (against Leicester City), the second one he won in the air and he still has the desire to fight for the next ball."

#football Several Saudi Arabian clubs are keeping a close eye on Casemiro's situation at Manchester United. The 32-year-old midfielder has seen little playing time since Ruben Amorim took over from Erik ten Hag as United manager in November. He started Monday's win over Newcastle but has played just 27 minutes in his previous five Premier League games. Brazilian online outlet UOL reported that Casemiro agreed to leave United in January and that Public Investment Fund, which owns four Saudi clubs - Al Ittihad, Al Ahli, Al Nasr and Al Hilal - is interested in buying the midfielder. Now journalist Ben Jacobs has shared more information regarding Casemiro's future and the interest in him in the Saudi League. The problem with most Saudi clubs, he says, is that they have used up their quotas for foreign players and would have to part with someone they already have to sign a new one.

– It was football suicide and until Amorim change their system or squad, the performances and results will not change. With United in 14th place, it is very worrying. “We know that Amorim’s 3-4-3 worked well at Sporting Lisbon, but the Premier League is a tough place. Only one team has ever won the title here playing like that, and Antonio Conte at Chelsea was very lucky to have outstanding holding midfielders in Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante, and Eden Hazard, who made opponents worry more about him than about attacking. United don’t have those tools.” “I have been impressed by Amorim since they arrived at Old Trafford, but that was the first real black mark. He must have known that Newcastle were in great form and that their most energetic midfielder, Manuel Ugarte, was suspended. Yet the way the match played out surprised him.

#football Danny Murphy has accused Ruben Amorim of committing "football suicide" against Newcastle by selecting the wrong starting XI. The Magpies won 2-0 at Old Trafford but they dominated Amorim's side for the first 30 minutes and could have scored more. Casemiro and Christian Eriksen were decimated by Newcastle's midfield, and the choice of the pair to control the midfield surprised many before the game even started. Amorim appeared to realise their mistake and made a substitution in the 33rd minute, bringing on Kobby Meina. It was another setback for the new United boss, who had defiantly insisted he would not abandon his favoured 3-4-3 formation, but Murphy urged him to be more flexible or his side would continue to lose. “I was at Old Trafford and saw the problem in the opening minutes. By the time the Manchester United boss reacted, his team were 2-0 down and the game was over,” Murphy wrote in the Daily Mail.
