Teen angst? Wow, that's a lifetime ago... Very early Will Smith (Fresh Prince & Jazzy Jeff) comes to mind: Parents just don't understand. Of course Nirvana. But my angst was, zeitgeisty, focused on bigger issues. So, I was very much Public Enemy. Fight the Power, Bring the Noise. And Ice T's Body Count.

I see what kind of music will be in our households this wknd Bring it on... You seen any of these folks live? Prince isn't angst but more sexual discovery, and it's hard to believe how many artists changed once they did a collab w him Sheena Easton from 007 to Sugar Walls 🤣

Have seen none live. Live came later. Festivals, a couple. North Sea Jazz in The Hague, Netherlands. Count Basie, Miles Davis, BB King, James Brown, George Clinton. Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu. Or Rock Werchter in Belgium. Stones, Metallica, Coldplay.

Rage, PE, and Beastie Boys are better live as the audience goes INSANE Rage plus Wutang was classic mash of the two different cultures & it worked Erykah is another level and Alicia is quite the musician.. Miles Davis is the coolest by far. 1st Coachella.

Oh, wow. That's a great list. Miles was certainly cool. He died later that year. Also cool was Art Blakey. Too old to be able to walk unassisted to his drum kit, but once he sat down... Animal on steroids.
