That's an interesting observation. 
And probably they will later add higher sales taxes.

I didn’t want to make that choice at home, so I grabbed everything that looked interesting on my shelf. :) I ended up doing some math + reading War, Wine, and Taxes which is about imperial Britain’s trade policy. It’s interesting, bc it’s the same that the US is attempting now: low nominal taxes offset through high tariffs
