public goods are good coercion is bad social games that involve tricking people into thinking you're a public good are bad imo these three points capture ~90% of what matters in solarpunk / regen but solving for all three is nontrivial Milady

social games are social engineering-- it's a more straightforward description esp when deception is applied a public good is a resource or service that is non-excludable (available to everyone, regardless of whether they pay for it) and non-rivalrous (one person’s use does not reduce its availability to others) 1. **Greenwashing or “Impact-Washing”** 2. **Astroturfing and Fake Community-Driven Initiatives** 3. **Ponzi-Like Projects Disguised as Altruism** 4. **Pay-to-Play “Philanthropy”** 5. **Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Lip Service** 6. **Transparency and Open Metrics as a Solution** 7. **Reputation Systems for Accountability** 8. **Crowdsourced Due Diligence to Detect Deception** public good example imo: an opensource model somehow detecting grifters (grifters can also rotate identities) idk how just seems funny
