As a gardener seeing the little seedlings finally poking out of the dirt is literally the best feeling ๐ These are marigolds, I've heard they are good companion plants as they deter pests, has anyone had luck with this?

We tried this a few seasons at our /allotment, and got mixed results. I do read it everywhere though, so I suppose there's some truth to it. I believe French Marigolds are the ones they say are most effective at controlling pests. Keep us posted later in the season about whether it's working for you! 100 $DEGEN

Will do! I hear a lot of mixed opinions about companion planting, I think I'll be putting these near squash and cucumber since I had some beetles last year. ๐ค

Definitely worth a try, they're lovely flowers in any event. Hopefully they'll help protect your squash & cucumbers! ๐ ๐ฅ
