Hard to say from the pictures, but is it very dry? Were the roots disturbed or not deeply rooted? 50 $DEGEN

Not dry. These plants are established. 3 years old. I did recently disturb the soil trying to pull out some grass runners.

Hm, wonder if the weeding of grass left some air pockets around the strawberries' roots or damaged them... I guess I wouldn't worry too much as the strawberries will make runners after fruiting this season, hopefully to fill in the bare areas. You could try to water after weeding to settle any air pockets, perhaps?
