Would they not for something sufficiently interesting? The lack of onchain messaging seems like a big L. (Relatedly, I have an anon collector I want to gift but I don’t do unsolicited airdrops. Maximum human connection has to be the goal.)

Yes, this would be the advantage of going through web 3 native publishers, rather than having to join Web 2/3.
