This is the sort of anecdote that thoughtfluencer VCs and founders use to rationalize how startups can take on incumbents because they're lazy, but of course it's bullshit. Meta will still dominate its vertical, and you'll be crushed if you take them on head-on.

If your engineers are worried about such optimizations, then they are probably good at engineering
