1. Pigeons were first officially adopted by the postal administration as a means of mail delivery during the siege of Paris on November 18, 1870. Mail for the city was prepared at Tours. Messages were photographed at a great reduction. The film was placed in a piece of hollow goose feather, sealed with wax and tied to a carrier pigeon.
Pigeons have keen eyesight and an incredible ability to find their way home. Man noticed this ability of pigeons a very long time ago and began to use it for their own purposes. 
2. In New York City, the first sound cartoon “Steamboat Willie” premiered on November 18, 1928. It is the earliest surviving sound cartoon, the first sound film from the Walt Disney Studios, and the third work featuring Mickey Mouse. After the success of the first cartoons, they were further developed by adding a sound track.
