Ingredients - linguine - tenderstem broccoli - garlic - chilli - grated parmesan - lemon juice Instructions - boil water, salt it - separate broccoli heads from stalks - cut stalks lengthwise - slice garlic & chill - sautee garlic & chilli in some oil on high - before the garlic yellows, throw in the (washed) broccoli - add a ladleful of cooking water and cover with a lid (this will steam the broccoli in the pan) - keep an eye on it and add water when it's gone - drain the pasta 2 minutes before cooking time; DO NOT throw away the cooking water - add pasta, lemon juice, parmesan and cooking water to broccoli - toss it like your life depends on it, remove from cooker - lay a bed of the broccoli on the dish - use a carving fork to plate the pasta - add more parm, dash of oil, Maldon salt - maronn Made with the /nfs Gallery composer action

Cool use of a frame for this! In the very first image, what looks like a bit of bread in the metal bowl, is that part of the recipe (not referenced), or just a snack while cooking?

Smart. Hungry chefs are hasty chefs, and wasted sauce is wasteful

A sign of true culture A couple decades ago, my wife and I spent a few weeks driving around the upper 2/3 of Italy It was one of the best trips we've ever taken, for the views, the art and the food, among other things We visited Rome, Florence, Pisa, Genoa, Milan, Verona, Venice, Ravenna, Riminia, Ancona, Pescara, Foggia Pompei, Naples, and back to Rome again, with other smaller stops along the way (in my mid-40s now, I'm glad we did that then and not now, it was a lot) A few of the highlights: Amalfi was breathtaking, and the limoncello was superb The seaside and countryside between Ravenna and Pescara was fantastic, and we had the best hot chocolate of our lives in Ancona The coastline between Pisa and Genoa was lovely, and we were sad we couldn't fit Cinque Terre into our trip And we spent the better part of a week walking almost everywhere in Rome worth visiting
