My italian mother-in-law just had a 30-min call to decide whether their next call on Monday should last more or less than 30 mins

She is currently in an hour-plus-long, 4-person call to decide what employee should work on a client project

Meeting looks far from over and only decision in sight seem to have another meeting with said employee and their direct report

Meeting has now been going for 2 hours, no decisions were taken, candidate pool has expanded from 1 to 2, apparent course of action is "giving a test" to assess both
