Never seen a show more stupid than Foundation

I enjoyed season 1 more than season 2, but I wouldn’t say it’s the most stupid show. It’s got some serious merits, even if it’s cheesy at times (but what sci-fi isn’t?). Hard to nail the scale of such wacky ideas. The drama is “galactic”, spanning centuries (genetic dynasty?). I dig it.

What makes any creative product interesting (thereby serious) are its constraints and whether it adheres to its own rules

Especially stories

Suspension of disbelief is a tough sell when you just keep making stuff up

You can't have it all

- psychohistory (statistics) AND feeling the future (whatever tf that means)
- intergenerational narrative AND the same people showing up after centuries
- Seldon as a legendary symbol of a potentially surpassed science AND multiple Seldons, one of which is ALIVE, influencing events

Here's the truth: they have the gall to change the source material, but they don't have the balls to see their new story through

There is just no point to the story

They blew up Terminus (which doesn't happen in the books but ok), so everyone is dead

"Oh no so sad all those people dead how will the Foundation fulfil its purpose"

Don't worry we got Seldon's ark, they're all alive it was a joke
