first of all, the entire second wave of Black Metal is from the 90s

Mayhem's Deathcrush came out in 1987 but it wasn't really black metal - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, OTOH, definitely was and that was recorded in 1992

this is obviously missing thousands of cult classics, but it's a good 90s cheat sheet / starter list
