imagine if an industry had spent decades experimenting with ways to invest in startups and alllll the lessons — what worked, what didn’t, what’s still broken — were out in public for us to learn from so we could not only build better but build faster. imagine! too bad we have to start from scratch

also whatever happened to @larrybot? last i can recall (not saying this is reality, only my impression) there was FUD and PvP about it. bummed it wasn’t embraced bc it was an informed iteration; it recognized pain points of base launchpads and offered good solutions to address them. need more of that, not less.

The difference between talking versus doing; Larrybot was an iteration, not the first, it wouldn’t have existed if [REDACTED] didn’t kick off the meta Would’ve been more ethical as a blogpost/theses

i’m not following and don’t necessarily understand what point you’re making? usually doing > talking. i can’t tell if youre suggesting the opposite by saying a blogpost (talking) would be been more “ethical.” why are you mentioning ethics? iterations and competition are net positive for industries.

fair weather project, you’re asking where did Larry go - it wasn’t an overnight success so it wasn’t “worth it” in this case I am suggesting the opposite, im really big on intent, so that’s why I brought up ethics, feels like the intent was more of a critique than a pet project or something they would continue to iterate on u are right tho ab competition being good, a rising tide lifts all boats.

hmmm, i never assume someone’s intent unless they’ve been explicit about it nor assume an explanation for someone’s circumstances. in fact, making untrue assumptions and sharing them publicly can also be considered unethical unless an honest mistake or parody (doesn’t seem to be).
