Sharing my language learning best practices and would love to hear from others on this! 1. Deprioritize apps that don’t focus on speaking and listening. Apps like Duolingo and Babbel are great for learning to read and write but are pretty useless for speaking

100% agree with your emphasis on practicing speaking – in the end (in most cases) that’s what you mainly need the language for. I’d add: – learning phrases > learning words – talk to yourself all the time – content translated to the language you learn is easier to comprehend vs originally in that language

Love the "talk to yourself all the time". Your third point is particularly relevant for idioms lol. Hearing Spanish idioms made me realize how ridiculous they sound in other languages. For example "the straw that broke the camel's back" 😆
