obviously increasing the costs of incoming goods will directly affect the price of those goods. why would we have to debate this. 😅

Obviously the point is to make that stuff cheaper in comparison, but we don't manufacture enough stuff here to make it competitive. I'm not against tariffs and I'm not for them. I am pro buying locally made, whatever that means for you. I am not against higher prices, but I understand the reasoning and it's a luxury to have the ability to not care, but raising prices of imported goods will directly affect those already hurting the most. IMO. But really it's an obvious result. In the end there isn't an easy solution to deglobalizing, there are pain points everywhere.

But is the best thing a country can do anyway! Even if there is some pain for a while, your country and economy stronger is what it should matter more!

Nahh. I don't give a fuck about the economy or this country. I care about the earth, and I agree that we should manufacture locally. Our reasoning is different. I just want to see less exploitation of the planet's resources. Constant worrying about the economy and GDP is why we are fucked.
