After being a nomad for 2 years, I’ve lost all the joy and excitement I used to have from traveling. I moved back to Reno in August but still haven’t felt home. Anyone else get burned out from the nomadic lifestyle?

Modern Western nomadism has a shelf life. There are only so many Authentic Experiences you can have, funky bars you can visit, Before Sunrise liaisons. Ultimately it’s extractive. Pick a place, maybe two, dive deep. Build.

We are wired for connections. This includes places. One can travel a lot, but having a solid established base helps to keep it all together

I moved around a lot, but I learned I like TIME in each place. Preferably just split a year between two places. This way you can build real life and not constantly run away from it.

Yeah I agree. Traveling is good, compulsive traveling, for years on end, expecting places to provide meaning, is a dead end.
