In the US, stock markets and banks are closed today. The onchain economy we're building is open 24/7. You have a regional, opaque system that needs to shut down on weekends, OR a global, transparent, and always on system that works for you. Which one do you think scales into the future?

Debatable. Governments and / or corporations what effectively own these networks can be shut down or disable access, targeting specific groups and individuals. 24/7 until that happens. Also don't think this works for everyone. At least not yet. Seems to be coopted by people who have a lot of money or know how to use these systems leaving a lot of people out. Regional can be quite powerful and helpful in these cases. Real communities working together to solve local problems in the wake of all the havoc created by extractive global systems that don't understand local problems.
