Calling Ethereum decentralized is about user control. By running a node you prevent unauthorized use of your identity & money. If someone tries to steal your FID we all reject that tx. This level of security & user empowerment isn't possible on centralized blockchains where a cabal of supercomputers control the rules

As a side note, picking up on your first sentence there, I much prefer the term “user controlled” to “decentralized”. That’s the sort of language we need to adopt to reach a broader audience.

Agreed. Who cares if your network is "decentralized" if the elites of blockchain community, including pools, block explorers and hosted nodes, are all in the same telegram channel
