if your country couldn't import food, would it survive? most of americas could; most of asia (ex China) could not % current land area for self sufficiency: Argentina 5% Uruguay 8% (global top 10) US 13% Brazil 17% . . . Japan 158% India 293% South Korea 493%

If import/export were to be stopped: India will be self sufficient in 20-30 commodities & might fall short on 8-10 commodities with current production rates, which can be changed as well.
