Even with a bloated process I imagine the sophistication that’s goes into something like an F-16 let alone an F-35 is many times more in magnitude than my Subaru.

Do you think it’s reasonable that each new generation of plane take 5 years longer than the previous generation? Or that SpaceX has a curve that looks like this?

I don't think that's reasonable. Which is why is it's exciting to see how SpaceX, Anduril, and others deliver at a fraction of the time/cost. I do think comparing those sophisticated aircraft to commercial planes and consumer autos is apples to oranges.
