I was there back in 2019 and really liked it. Uruguay in general was great.

i was just there in February and had no issues

most people I interacted with spoke English and restaurants mostly had menus in both English and Spanish

in fact, most restaurant servers were able to switch into English that sounded almost native!

how important is speaking or understanding spanish to have a good experience?
