Context: > want to buy a channel > don't have enough warps ⬗ After this, it took 19 steps (clicks, taps, swipes, etc) to buy warps (with CB Wallet + Commerce being over half of them) I think this is a major hurdle to creating cozy corners, because you need to be a power user to get through that flow ^

True - there was a land grab mentality initially, but that's tapered off That said, number of channels is a misleading metric. We need "qChannels" and barrier to entry should be as low as possible because creator talent can show up whenever

Channel creation could be better, but difficulty of creating a channel is not the reason we don’t have a lot of interesting channels. It’s a content / incentive problem.

Land grab might’ve tapered off but people still jump to create channels prematurely and then they sit dormant (kinda like domains but worse since they clog up the channel list) I sometimes think it wouldn’t be a bad thing if we went back to a centralized list of channels where you could apply for new ones and they’d be created once there was enough demand or reason to have them (upvotes, existing community, etc) Too much fragmentation now (multiple LA and AI channels, a ton of art and music channels), feels a bit premature and more harm than good in many cases
