In a workspace, the Bun package manager hoists dependencies if two projects share a dependancy. Sounds great in theory, but is the absolute worst when anything goes wrong.

PNPM isolates dependencies by default which is a much more sane approach.

You can use Bun the runtime with pnpm, though. Best of both worlds 👯

The main thing I like about pnpm is that I can treat the workspace packages are fully isolated projects. I've spent so much time fixing monorepo shared dependency 💩

I see what you’re saying. Unfortunate that Bun naming couples the runtime and package manager 

I haven’t looked much into the runtime either, just sticking with good ol Node for now

The Bun runtime is great, super fast. I tend to default to Node too though.
