But they’re mostly reactionary and legible like the incumbents (X et al) Slower growth means longer illegibility, where authentic gestation can happen By the time it becomes legible, it’s resilient enough to withstand mainstream attacks

Massive agree tbh bsky is growing fast because it's "twitter but not twitter". I imagine it'll surge around election times, particularly with heavy ad campaigns from the blue side. Threads, honest to god keep forgetting it exists until it tries to bait me with literal thirst traps when I log in to insta. Farcaster is the only network I've joined in years that actually feels a bit fresh. Almost early kongregate/newground vibes with the new frames system, coupled with so many shared interests around the place. I'm really enjoying the slow/sustainable growth here, and people signing up purely for interests rather than "I hate X now" etc. Long may it last.

Bsky gets to be same same but different with twitter and will never be able to evolve beyond the comparison. FC is changing the game.
