I did think worldcoin was using Zk tech, although that doesnt stop it from being a bit freaky

You described it better than I could - and honestly a refreshing and evidently obvious perspective- but eloquently put

zk proof in world coin is used to like the user's system id (world id) with the user's biometrics, without revealing which biometric data is connected to the world id

zk proof in roc is used to commit that the hardware took the picture as presented (+/- permitted edits)

I am not an expert on either of these though!
