Passkeys are too niche and normal folks don’t use them

Only remaining option is pws, which seems worse than otp?

I have passkeys for a bunch of things these days 

Groceries app
Camera app
Amazon
GitHub 
WhatsApp 
Google

And the flow is seamless enough for most people to think they are just using their normal Face ID

I have heard anecdotally from non tech forward friends and family that they ignore requests to switch to passkeys because they don't understand them

Are there any stats on passkey adoption?

apple will solve the ux and everyone will copy. it’ll just feel like faceid

one problem with passkeys and totp consolidation into Passwords app et al is we’re back at overengineered single factor (apple account with icloud passwords)
