This was actually my mistake — there is another section below the fold for “In-app” notifications that also needs to be turned off

Why don't you add this feature or setting?

1. Lack of focus is kills startups; the number of things you can work on pre-product market fit is finite

2. Settings after often (but not always) a sign of underdeveloped product thinking 

3. Most users don't want settings; they don't want to do work; it should just work out of the box; finding the right default is critical

4. Giving power users a setting means you'll get less feedback if the default isn't working, since average users don't complain, they just stop using the app

5. Power users often want very different things than average users

6. 99% of new features should be focused on the solving the existential problem. Farcaster existential issue is growing daily active users, which means figuring out the right defaults. And upstream of growing daily active users is growing the supply of interesting and entertaining content.

7. Part of prioritization is making the right investments in scalability, e.g. why we have some people working on Hubs right now

Most people are fine with in-app notifications. Very few people turn them off.

As soon as the dispersed tokens are being sold its users that were triggered by the notification that might get hurt

I think all the problems you mentioned @mvr can be addressed by adding more context / lore

I think the more fundamental questions are around whether leaning into tokens alienates some of your TAM, and whether it's worth polarizing intentionally to differentiate

What other signals can we surface in trending onchain notifications?

- Who created the token / coin / NFT?
- Who is bought?
- Who has held (and has a history of holiding)?
- Is there a lock up? see Clanker v3.1 
- Who has a history of selling quickly?
- What is the lore? Did it start from a cast? A tweet? A meme?
- Does it have an app? A frame? An agent? Can I one tap into that right from the notification?
- Is there a deflationary mechanic?

Other notes
1. We're early and iterating. The feature will be polarizing. You can turn it off if you don't like it.

2. Farcaster's differentiation is 1) every user has a wallet 2) it's programmable. Those two characteristics help people earn money on the network (in a variety of ways). Need to lean into that.

What does pareto mean? Like 80% benefit from the feature for 20% churn?
