Kind of sad how a major data breach is basically a nothingburger nowadays The market shrugs it off, people are too exhausted to care, and antiquated KYC policies don’t change When a society lacks the collective will to change clearly detrimental patterns, it has accepted its decline (the opposite of “it’s always day 1”)

I mean yeah, prompted by the CB breach announced yesterday But also relevant to all of the breaches over the past 10-15 years... nothing has been done

yeah…. sadly security is usually an afterthought. and to be honest, most bad actors these days couldn’t own a box if they purchased it so that leaves the human element. industry standard for security training appears to be “is this a phish?” 5 times and then you’re done for the year. lots of room for improvement, imo. Idk if fees on companies that get breached due to negligence even makes a difference either as the responsibility is passed onto the employees and so it seems that places trend either towards apathy or they attempt to lock down so much it impacts productivity and then eventually things go back to how they were. it’s kinda like almost getting into a car crash. you’re chilling, then boom you lose control and after you recover you drive home with no music and both hands on the wheel.. until the next day. lotta lived experience here so sorry for the rant lol
