I don't believe you need AGI to create a "one-click business" - where every step of the business creation and operation is done with AI. You can patch together a bunch of discrete AI blocks - finding the idea, building it, marketing, etc. For example, I built a B2B email marketing agency, then wrote software to automate the entire process of finding leads, researching them, writing emails and replying to them in the inbox - which means it's a plug n play solution to increase revenue for any B2B company. Took a lot of work but could be repeated for written content, ops, etc.

The left became the party of conspiracy theories within 2 weeks: 1. Bidens awful debate performance - many leftists believe the media, by focusing on Biden, secretly wants trump to win for their ratings (the media doesn't go hard enough on trump?) 2. Calling the assassination attempt a false flag, facts be damned

JD has come out in support of open source AI. Gotta say just having a stance at all on AI is comforting. AGI/ASI is this behemoth tech that will alter every aspect of society and no politician ever talks about it

America is running toward communism. In the 20th century, democracy/freedom gave america the ability to attract the world's top talent while maintaining moral authority for basically anything. Other countries followed in the US's footsteps, many of which haven't fared well. With the weird culture shift that has taken over the west in the last 2 decades, democracy is increasingly being seen as a liability, and when given the chance, many heads of state opt for authoritarianism. But with the US wanting to maintain its position as the world leader (and not suffer from massive instability) it has to keep up the image of fairness. At the same time, tech advances in the 2000s have greatly closed the gap between the US and other countries. But as human labor is massively automated in the next 10+ years, the best talent is gpu clusters, not people, so the US will have no practical reason to go any direction but authoritarianism too as people become just a liability.
