i think both are interchangeable, but in my own dictionary marketing has a wider meaning as a system to achieve organizational results, and growth is specifically building and optimising AARRR funnels

Yeah, marketing is widely broad as a concept and tends to be misunderstood. End of the day it's about drumming up demand for a product, but there are huge disciplinary differences between things like branding, content, & acquisition. IMO growth is more technical aspect of quantifying/optimizing that acquisition loop.
