i think both are interchangeable, but in my own dictionary marketing has a wider meaning as a system to achieve organizational results, and growth is specifically building and optimising AARRR funnels

Could it be as simple as brand vs. business outcome objectives? Growth feels more broad in the inputs used to get from point A to B

growth includes marketing, marketing doesn’t always include growth best example i can think of is brand marketing and positioning - not necessarily a driver of growth but could be included in your overall growth strategy

marketing in crypto is generally synonymous with KoLs and large outlets which makes it feel more like PR growth in web3 is the use of on chain analytics, product analysis, and community to increase retention and average spend per user this is how I think of it

Marketing screams web2 email shenanigans to me for some reason. Dislike. Unsubscribe. Growth feels more vibey and community driven... But I don't know if this is a spicy take.
