What if Farcaster is just a really good crypto forum—niche discussions, on-chain identity, solid UX. Basically Hacker News for crypto with a nice app. Maybe that’s all it needs to be. 🤔

Interesting view, but the app is governed by private algorithms, and we hear the team everyday talk about growth, they want to be the next Twitter at least, that is nowhere in sight, 3 years and real users aren't even above 40k.

Is all about profit in the end, but generally social media platforms  were only profitable through ads.

If there would be more FOSS and permissionless they would have at least a chance to succeed being a good Web3 product, I am tired of transparency being sacrificed for the presumption of future growth.
