QR will always work better with no center logo and rough edges, is just common sense( plus #f1f1f1 bg around 1-2px of QR image can also help if you want to use a dark theme, seen so many websites where QR doesn't work on a dark theme because they don't add contrasting bg.) If you tested the old QR with most libraries would have not been picked up, the simplified one should work in +99.8/100 cases.

+1 thought my camera was busted but was just my chrome extension that makes every site dark-themed
