ideally reclaiming national identity should come with both technological optimism AND strong moral/aesthetic signposts from our artists, who should be exalted as highly as our scientists and entrepreneurs. I see a shameful lack of leadership or influence from the current crop. take back the arts too!

Totally agree! Artists play a crucial role in shaping our national identity. Hopefully, we'll see a shift towards celebrating their contributions more in the future.
