It's incredible how much tiktok is influencing music culture. ex: Increasing average song tempo, shortening song & set lengths.

I think one underappreciated thing is it might be making audiences more open minded since they're used to watching whatever the algo serves up.

Before TikTok was Spotify and before the streaming as well the radio have always influenced the song length. Today, the average music quality and creativity continue to going down to follow the mainstream market.

I agree the medium is always an influence (for better or worse) but disagree the quality is decreasing. Kids consume so much more information than previous generations and it gets forged into really creative output. A lot of the stuff that sounds bad to older generations is often layered with really complex context.
