Map placemats for toddlers are fun. Gives you an immediate distraction during a tantrum (“can I tell you about Arizona?”). They start to learn the states / countries pretty quickly. Also nice refresh for your geography trivia.

I think that's a good idea!! When my kids were little, we did a puzzle of a map of Japan and they learned the prefectures.
