completely agree, way fewer options and skincare products weren't as linked to status. they were moreso functional. whereas now, my tween+friends have to have the sol, DE, summer fridays, etc.

Also, I think it’s hilarious that people are surprised that young girls are into skin care, but I was the same way at their age. It was just less options.
