A Hawaiian monk seal hauls out on the beach where you are chasing monster waves... most of the time when I photograph a Hawaiian monk seal, I have found them already resting on the beach.

A handful of times I have been there when they are hauling out at a regular basking spot... but to see a Hawaiian monk seal hauling out on a beach while 30'-40' waves are crashing in is definitely super rare.
