Anyone here into weightlifting? Currently doing stronglifts 5x5 and planning to switch to 5/3/1 afterwards. Incredibly, I've gained about 8 lbs in the last 6 weeks. Wasn't looking to get bigger, but I feel really great, so planning to finish 5x5 out and cut when i switch to 5/3/1

The novice linear progression will get you very strong very fast if you stick with it but mentally it’s a grind. I also really like & strongly recommend Barbell Medicine - it has more variation & they have great programs. Feel free to connect w me 1:1 if you have questions

Nice. I've watched Alan Thrall youtube videos and he has mentioned Barbell Medicine a few times. Agree - the linear progression is TOUGH. It is really hard to know that I've been working super hard, and every time I go into the gym I need to be stronger. And scared I'll fail.

I did full NLP runs (6ish months) twice… Now I stick to BBM templates - also took a programming class with Mike Tuscherer through Reactive Training Systems (he created the RPE approach used by Allan Thrall & BBM)… fun stuff! Keep me posted on how you do :)
