The fact that we talk about parents “sacrificing” their careers for their children, but never say a parent is “sacrificing” their children for their career, says a lot about post modern American society.

Right after mat leave, I hired an assistant to help me with my work. Sometimes I wonder why it’s acceptable to pay for a nanny so we can work more but won’t make the same justifications for hiring an assistant so we can spend more time with our kids
