I’m familiar with this album and artist but haven’t really delved into them. This will be the push I need to do so. Admittedly at a festival years ago I passed up Morrissey for D’Angelo and the Vanguard

Well Morrissey has become an insufferable moron and I didn’t really listen to his solo stuff so I don’t blame you. However the Smiths is really Goated, 4 albums all 10/10. One of the greatest and most influential band of the 80’s. Huge influence for Radiohead too hehe 😄🐐

Wow very high praise from my wassie friend. Do you listen to D’Angelo at all by chance?

I figured you were familiar with Voodoo at the very least. If it’s been a while or you didn’t listen to it much give Brown Sugar another listen, very good album imo

Awesome! Thanks for the rec will definitely give it a listen! I don’t think I ever listened to this one I’m not that familiar with D’Angelo except for the two I cited! 🫶

It’s a bucket list item of mine to make a good, (at least relatively) unknown rec to Wasscaster

“Sorry amc, not a good album” lol Should we tee up another top 5 (or could go 3 to include less prolific artists)? Perhaps do a little hip hop one?

Sorry fell asleep a bit before your cast. I also kind of forgot we started with hip hop. So we can also do another genre. Are you a Stevie Wonder fan? He could be a fun one. Lmk and I’m happy to start if you’d like

Wouldn't say I'm a fan although I love his music, what I mean is I didn't listen to him as much as other artists for which I would say I'm a fan! Could do a ranking tho 😄

Haha it’s ok, don’t want to put you in a compromising position. I listened to Music Has the Right to Children earlier today, it was great! Halfway through Wasscaster’s IDM Essentials

Awesome!! Which one’s your favorite so far after those first listens? Haha! Tbh I didn’t listen to every Stevie Wonder’s albums, mainly talking book, innervisions and hotter than july. Love all of them tho! 🔊

As for Stevie, it’s kind of a matter if you want quality + quantity (Songs in the Key of Life) or a bit more cohesiveness (Innervisions) for me. Tough call but I’d rank: • Songs in the Key of Life • Innervisions • Fullfillingness’ First Finale • Talking Book • Music of my Mind
