Thanks for promoting this channel, @desktoy. I’ve gone so deep down the crypto rabbit hole that my equities exposure is almost all crypto related. Favorite play right now is $ETHE, trading at about a 23% discount to underlying ETH holdings. What do you like?

Word! With the Grayscale products, what is the reason for the discounts to underlying holdings? It's something that i've meant to look into.

It has to do with the way the trust is setup (not as efficient as an ETF that settles with the underlying asset - like BTC does on a daily basis now). The trust would be opened and closed periodically for institutions to deposit ETH and receive ETHE. For a long time there was a premium for Grayscale products…

Whether it’s the options available in the market, illiquidity, forced sellers I.e. genesis that premium flipped to a discount as high as 50-60% in the deep bear market. Would expect discount to trend towards 0 as an ETH ETF gets telegraphed/approved (we’ll see when that is)
