Every midwit out there is obsessed with politics and attributes every tiny life movement to them. Was at brunch this weekend and the table next to us had a 20+ min conversation on Trump that may as well have been straight out of 2016. It concluded with the loudest participant announcing that those who stayed in government to diligently work against these policies should have go fund me’s to be rewarded. Just untold levels of stupid

haha that's tough, it's definitely different from a few to 8 years ago tho, now when people say something like "i don't know where you stand politically but..." I don't know whether they're about to reveal their pro-trump or anti- where that disclaimer was previously only necessary for pro-trumpers in my circles

True it’s generally much more acceptable to be pro-Trump these days 

Imo whereas it used to be more blanket Trump hate applied to policies people didn’t like, now every insignificant item in day to day life is attributed to politics
