anyone built a messaging application before? working on a chatgpt-like app and trying to decide the best way to handle the high volume of writes needed to save messages. solutions being considered: - scylla - redis + daily backup to postgres - just a beefy pg cluster curious about people's thoughts on which is best

I have used Cassandra DB for heavy write workload. It’s multi master architecture complements this use case. Did not know about Scylla DB. Seems to be a good choice

Messages in Group chat were written to cassandra. But we didn’t hit that load where it would matter.
