How much tablet and screen time do your kids get?

The Family Link app is pretty great. I usually have educational/creative games set to unlimited, 30 mins for Disney+ and PBS Video, and sometimes I'll enable Netflix if I'm with her while watching. The tablet "goes to sleep" at 6:30, which is disappointing but it's okay. She's been using it since she was 2 and is 4 now.

Also, if you feed your kids hours of YouTube brain rot, and then yank it away from them suddenly, they are obviously going to freak TF out. Don't do that.

We primarily watch PBS kids. Great advice here :)

I think the important thing with videos is finding something mentally engaging. If your kid is talking back to Daniel Tiger when he asks them a question, that's good. If they're just drooling while Cocomelon plays, that's bad. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse seems to be unexpectedly engaging, but Mickey Mouse Funhouse seems to not be engaging at all, despite a similar structure. Also the media your kid engages with will change over time as well.
